International Student Update

Gumbuya World Excursion

On November 21, our ILC students joined the junior students from the mainstream school for a trip to Gumbuya World to celebrate the successful completion of the school year. Thank you Ms Ji, our multicultural aid, who  accompanied our international students. Here is her feedback :  

After gathering at school for roll call, the students travelled approximately 45 minutes by bus. Upon arrival, they applied sunscreen, changed clothes, and explored the park in groups. At first, our international students only went on thrill rides but later visited the water park after encouragement from friends. They had many interactions with local students, creating a joyful and memorable day. On the way back, students expressed a strong desire to return in the future.

Special School Tour with the visitors from Vietnam

Ms. Binh Tran and Mr. Hai Nguyen, founders of  SET, visited our college this Tuesday. This is the second time they have chosen to visit us as they were previously very impressed by the  friendly atmosphere and unique Bayside surroundings.  Our  Assistant Principal Tracey Bastin warmly welcomed our guests. We attended  a Year 11 EAL class, where our guests were very  pleased to meet our three international students from Vietnam. Thank you Ms Podesser, our EAL teacher, for your extra effort.

Term 4 2024 International Language Centre Graduation

This term, we have three students successfully graduated from our ILC. Nancy and Jerry will move to Year 10 mainstream in 2025. Jared will be back to his host school, Bentleigh SC in 2025. Congratulations to Jerry on his early graduation from his ILC course , having achieved an excellent standard of English. Well done Jerry.  We wish them all the best for their future study.
