Meet our 2025 Preps

We are beyond delighted to have seven preps joining us in 2025. Our 2025 intake have been attending school weekly for transition sessions and are all quickly learning routines and adapting to school life. They have been practicing spelling and writing their names, counting, handwriting, learning new games and songs as well as playing with our older students.

Levi, Lorelei, Stella, Avery, Harvey, Beau and Evie, we are so excited to have you and your families at our school and we look forward to many exciting times ahead.

We are also delighted to welcome a further two students (and their families) to our school in 2025. Emily will be joining us in Year 5, Emily has already visited us twice to learn about our school. In Year 2 we will have Kai joining us and he has spent a day with us and quickly made new friends. Emily, Kai and our 2025 Preps will come along to school for Step Up Day which is a statewide orientation day on Tuesday December 10th. Students will spend this day in their 2025 class groups.

Sleep Over

Don't forget our Big Day Out and Sleepover- details are on uEducateus. Please contact Lisa or Hayden if you have any questions or concerns.

Graduation and End of Year Celebration

This is only a week away- thank you to those who have promptly returned the RSVP slip and paid. If you need to make any adjustments to numbers please let us know ASAP for catering and seating purposes. A reminder that if you have anything "wrapped" that you need to bring up to the school (wink, wink) please ensure it is named and dropped in before Wednesday 11th of December to our chief elf- Bree!

We can not wait to see you all there on Thursday December 12th at 6pm to give our two outstanding and much loved,  Year Six students a wonderful send off.

School Bags

We have a small number of school bags for sale. They are navy blue with the Raywood PS logo on the front. They are very sturdy and (somewhat) waterproof with excellent zips. There is a medium size and a large. If you would like to come and have a look at them and purchase, please come up and see Bree Mondays-Thursdays. The medium bags are $20 and the larger bags are $25.

Please note, students do not have to have Raywood PS bag- they are just there if you would like one.

Phone Service

Following the installation of a new booster, earlier in the week, we now have mobile service within the building again. However, we do ask that during school hours, contact is made using the landline rather than messaging or ringing on staff member's phones. When teaching, staff will not be able to respond to messages or answer calls, as it is distracting to the lesson and not fair on the students or the teacher. Staff will respond to messages when they are able to but this may not be for several hours. Calls to the landline are always answered (or in rare cases when we are unable to answer the phone, a message can be left on the machine).

Christmas Dress  Up Day and Anything But A Bag

As a final event, our Year 6 Leaders are organising a Christmas Themed Dress Up Day and are asking students to leave their regular school bags at home on this day and bring their belongings in something else. This might be a pillowcase, box, a bundle tied to a stick or any other inventive method. Students do not have to wear school uniform and instead are encouraged to wear something Christmas themed (t-shirt, hat, Christmas colours, elf costume etc).

This event will take place on the second last day of school- Thursday December 19th.

Important Dates

  • Don't forget that our final day of term is Friday December 20th. Students will be dismissed at 1:20pm on this day (therefore the bus will run two hours ahead of schedule).
  • The front page of this newsletter has Important Dates for 2025, including term dates for 2025, swimming dates and return to school dates.

That's all for this week- Lisa Duffy

Parent and carer School Saving Bonus

The School Saving Bonus has now been fully rolled out. Every family should have received their unique code via email to log into the portal. If you have not received this, please contact me as soon as possible.

I have sent home a step-by-step guide on how to log in, navigate the portal, and allocate your bonus toward either uniform purchases or school activities.

Our uniform supplier does not have an online shop and is based in Echuca. To make it easier for parents, the school will process your uniform orders for you. If you would like to order uniforms and use the bonus to pay for them, please ask me for an order form. Fill it out and clearly write your unique code at the top of the form. Instructions on how to obtain this code are included in the information I sent home. Alternatively, feel free to give me a call or come see me, and I can walk you through the process.

I will do a final uniform order before the end of school so if you would like to do a order have to to me no later then the 16th of December we will then have this order ready the first week of school 2025 .

Thank you, Bree.
