New Staffing

We welcome 11 new staff members to St Augustine’s in 2025, and we are fortunate to have recruited such skilled professionals. We anticipate their transition into our college will be seamless, and their contributions will be invaluable. Please welcome the following staff.

 

Mr Mitch Birt joins us as a technologies teacher. Mr Birt completed a teaching practicum with us in 2023. He has a trade background, is beginning a new career in teaching and is eager to contribute to all aspects of college life.

 

 

Mrs Sandra Cristaudo-Jenkins joins us as an art teacher, having most recently worked at Good Counsel College in Innisfail. Mrs Cristaudo-Jenkins completed a 12-month contract with us in 2021 and was known for building strong relationships with students.

 

Dr Silvia Dimarco joins us as a part-time maths teacher. Dr Dimarco has previously worked at the College, and we look forward to benefiting from her teaching skills, knowledge and experience in Mathematics.

 

 

Miss Sarah Gibbs joins us as an English and humanities and social sciences (HASS) teacher. Most recently working at St Patrick’s College Mackay, Miss Gibbs brings extensive experience in senior English and HASS. Her contributions to these departments will be a great asset.

 

Ms Candice Grasso joins us as a part-time religion teacher, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Ms Grasso is returning to work after taking maternity leave. She previously taught at St Monica’s College for many years.

 

Mr Adam Halliday joins us from St Therese’s Bentley Park. Mr Halliday will bring vast knowledge across various departments. He has previous experience at Saints, working in boarding several years ago.

 

 

Mrs Sonja Kelly joins us as our new front office Receptionist. Mrs Kelly was most recently at St Therese’s Bentley Park. Her kind, caring and friendly nature will ensure all our visitors feel welcome.

 

 

Mr Gavin Loeskow joins us as a technologies assistant in the College workshops. Mr Loeskow joins us from GSL. He has vast experience working with young people and in minor construction and maintenance. Both attributes will be welcomed in the Technologies Department.

 

Mr Jack Rix joins us as a sports assistant. As a recent Old Boy, Mr Rix is familiar with the workings of the College and understands how Saints operates. His presence and drive will be invaluable in assisting the Sport and Health & PE departments.

 

Mr Andrew Welsh joins us as a new grounds and maintenance officer. He was most recently the maintenance manager at Cairns One. Mr Welsh’s attention to detail and pride in his work will ensure high standards in the presentation of the College.

 

Mrs Kirby Will joins us as a part-time religion teacher, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays. She previously worked at CEDC in the Identity and Outreach team. Mrs Will is well versed in the Religion curriculum and brings extensive knowledge to the RE Department from her vast experience.
