Wood working skills

STEM marble mazes

This term in the Year 9 & 10 STEM elective students have been developing wood working skills including learning how to accurately measure wood to cut it to the desired size. As well as how to saw wood, use a file or sand paper to remove any rough edges, hammer in nails to connect pieces of wood and drill holes into wood.

Throughout the term students designed and made objects of their choice out of wood including shelves, tables, chairs and photo frames.

This term culminated in students designing and creating their own marble mazes out wood for their CAT assignment this term. They used their skills developed to produce some excellent products.
