Principal Report

I acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners of the land where Pascoe Vale North Primary School stands and I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. I recognise and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to our community.”

Mrs Deborah Crane

Parent-Thank you

To all our incredible parents out there.

Your presence, interest, guidance and enthusiasm in schooling help shape your children’s future. Your dedication and support will mean the world to your children and is a credit to you.

Your relationship with our school and your support of everything we do to make each year the best year for each student, is highly important and we thank you for this.

Thank you to the families who completed our school survey about what we are doing well and areas for improvement. We value your feedback.

We were unsuccessful in obtaining the minor grant for the permanent shelter over our basketball court and we were very disappointed with this, as this would be a great asset to our school and support our outdoor programs immensely. But we will not give up. We will try again.

Welcome Dimi

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Dimitra Efthymiou, our new Student Engagement and Wellbeing Leading Teacher.

Dimi is settling in well and getting to know our staff, students and even some families already.

Dimi has a great deal of experience with developing School Leadership and empowering student voice. We have already established a regular time for her and Ms Ansons to meet with our School Leaders, House Captains and Junior School Council.

Dimi met with our students who wanted to run a lunch club this term on Wednesday. It is great to see the students being involved in collaboration around their programs. We would like to further develop lunch clubs to cater for a variety of needs of students.

Attendance

It is highly important that students attend school regularly unless they are unwell. It is just as important that parents explain all absences and this can be completed in the morning on COMPASS. The teachers will get this absence as soon as they mark the roll.

Lateness: We will be monitoring lateness over the next few weeks and families may receive a phone call if this is a regular pattern.

Leaving early: We have had a number of students leaving just from 3.05-3.10pm in the last few weeks. There is only 5-10 minutes until the end of the day and therefore unless this is very important we would prefer that you wait until the end of the day.

PREP Enrolments - now open for 2025!

If you have a child who is eligible to Start school (Prep)  in 2025, enrolments are now open. Please pick up an enrolment form from the office and return it as soon as possible.

Siblings, will be accepted whether you are in or out of our zone, HOWEVER enrolment forms must be in by the end of this term for this to be guaranteed.

Camps and Excursions

Thank you to the families for continuing to support your children to attend these special school activities. We had a great number of students sleeping over at the Year 2 Sleepover last week and camp numbers for years 3/4 and 5/6 are filling up extremely fast.

Many thanks to our staff for their willingness to provide these opportunities for our students, as these are some of the treasured memories they take with them.

Technology

Thank you to the many families who have completed the code of conduct paperwork with their children. Students must have this signed and returned to use technology. They will only be permitted to use technology for assessments if they have not returned the completed forms. This is to protect your children and others and to ensure they are being respect while online.
