MUSIC LEARNING 

AREA NEWS! 

This term is the Whole School Production. Many of our music students are involved either on stage, in the band, or backstage. I strongly encourage you to go along to one of the performances of Mamma Mia in June. 

We have the following Instrumental nights coming up in Term 2, all of which will be held in D01 at 5pm: 

• Voice and Piano - Wednesday 15th May 
• Percussion, Guitar and Bass Guitar - Monday 17th June 
• Brass and Woodwind - Wednesday 19th June  

This is a fantastic performance opportunity for parents, carers and friends to see what students have been doing in their IM lessons in a smaller, more informal concert setting. Students should check with their Instrumental teacher as to what they will be performing.    

We are also holding ensemble incursions in the last two weeks of term, in preparation for the Victorian School Music Festival in August, where the Choir and Stage Band will be participating. (Beginner Band will be performing at VSMF in November). These incursions are:   

• Choir Incursion - Thursday 20th June 
• Stage Band Incursion - Monday 24th June 

A reminder that our  Winter Concert  will be held in Term 3 on Tuesday 23rd July at 7pm,  where all school ensembles will be performing.  

Please note: that we have changed the dates of the Winter Concert and Spring Concert from the original calendar that was sent out in Term 1, from the Monday to Tuesday evening, as we now have more instrumental staff in attendance on Tuesdays. The updated Music calendar is below.  

Finally, can all parents and carers please check that you have actioned Instrumental Music and Hire Fees for 2024 on Compass. These fees can either be paid as a lump sum for the year, or in 4 instalments.
