Unit of Work and SEL

This term our Unit of Work: ‘$20 Boss Challenge’ sees the students thinking about how they can make a difference in the world. They will be putting on their entrepreneurial hats to create a product or a service with $20 to create social change. Students will take ownership of their learning and develop a range of skills including financial literacy, communication, and collaboration. They will gain real-world experiences by creating business plans, connecting with customers and creating a product that is market ready.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In Social and Emotional Learning this term, the Grade 5 students will be:

• Describing the range and influence of personal qualities and strengths

• Monitoring their progress in consolidating their strengths

• Assessing the value of working independently and as part of a team.

 

 

Grade 6 Students will be learning about:

• Identifying some causes of stress and strategies that can be used to reduce stress

• Identifying and explaining factors that influence effective communication in a variety of situations.

 

We will use circle time sessions and Open Parachute resources to support these lessons also.
