Welcome back to the start of Term 2. I hope that you and your family have managed to have a great break – enjoyed the lovely weather and had the opportunity to recharge the batteries. This term will see teachers completing Semester 1 reports with the reports going home at the end of the term.
We are currently going through an External Validation process with the school presenting our findings to an external panel on Tuesday, this week. All government schools in NSW go through this procedure every 4 years. It involves external personnel validating the school against the Schools Excellence Framework. We look forward to sharing the results at the next P&C meeting.
Parent Portal
Just a reminder that parents and caregivers have been sent a “Key” and a set of instructions to log on to the new accounting process. This system allows parents to have transparency of all funds paid to the school and manage transactions at home. The “Key” is unique and can only be registered to one email account. Please contact the school if you need assistance in setting up your account.
Attendance

The Education Act 1990 requires that parents ensure their children of compulsory school age are enrolled at, and regularly attend school, or, are registered with the NSW Education and Standards Authority for home schooling. Once enrolled, children are required to attend school each day it is open for students.
The Importance of arriving on time
Arriving at school and class on time: Ensures that students do not miss out on important learning activities scheduled early in the day. Helps students learn the importance of punctuality and routine. Gives students time to greet their friends before class. Reduces classroom disruption. Lateness is recorded as a partial absence and must be explained by parents.
What if my child has to be away from school?
On occasion, your child may need to be absent from school. Justified reasons for student absences may include:
