Principal's Report

Last Thursday evening we hosted our Year 7 2025 Information Night and it was a wonderful event. We were able to tour our new Stage 2 buildings and give some of our staff an opportunity to share their joy and excitement around teaching at our College, in particular our Kildare Campus. Our Year 7 enrolments are now open and I encourage families to submit their applications by Friday 17 May.

Today we celebrated Mother's Day with many of our Year 9 and 10 students inviting the significant women in their life to join us for an activity and a light breakfast at our Brigidine Campus. These times in secondary school are really special and we are looking at introducing more opportunities for our families to join us for various activities and celebrations with their sons and daughters. So stay tuned.

Learning Mentor (LM) phone calls have also commenced - these are a great opportunity for families to enhance the connection with your child’s LM teacher. Your LM should be your ‘go to’ for all things St Joseph’s College.

As a staff we have been discussing the behaviour of our students and overall our students are excellent, but at time some need reminding of the fundamentals, such as basic courtesy, good manners and respectful behaviour. This is something we need to work on in partnership with families, and I ask that we all provide that support to each other.

This week I shared with families the loss of our staff member and colleague Ros Masterman. These are challenging times for communities, but we rely on our faith and on being in community to help us walk through this sad time.

God Bless
