Community News

Now more than ever, we need reconciliation.

Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) started as the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation in 1993 (the International Year of the World’s Indigenous Peoples) and was supported by Australia’s major faith communities. As people of faith we are called, Now More than Ever, to journey towards Reconciliation.

We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.

So we invite you to join us For a cuppa, a scone and a yarn around the fire to build relationships and share stories.

Everyone is welcome.

Now more than ever, we need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation. In treaty making, in truth-telling, in understanding our history, in education, and in tackling racism. We need connection. We need respect. We need action. And we need change.  We all need to stand up and reach out - Now more than ever.
