Assistant Principal Report
Sunny Autumn Days
As autumn progresses and winter approaches, it was wonderful to observe our Junior School students taking full advantage of the sunny weather last week by engaging in a variety of informal activities.
Whether it was playing badminton, table tennis, or simply enjoying the sunshine during lunchtime, our students had ample space to participate in these activities.
In addition to these informal recreational activities, we also offer formal activities at lunchtime, including Art and Coding clubs, puzzles, board games, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and various other options. We continually expand the range of activities based on the interests of both students and staff, with new offerings introduced each year.
Towards the end of last month, our school leaders organised a special ANZAC day assembly, which was skilfully led by our vice captains, Zach Bissett, and Anna Harper.
The ceremony, marked by poignant speeches from our school Captain Braydon Corey, as well as a fitting tribute to ANZAC Day by Anna Harper, who serves as a Company Commander at her Army Cadet Unit (31ACU).
Anna so poignantly reinforced the meaning and significance of such an important anniversary to our culture.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge one of our recent appointments for 2024, Mr Steven Firman, a highly accomplished artist.
Currently, Mr Firman has some of his artwork on display at the “Schokolade Café in Studield” as part of the Knox City Council's Arts program, which aims to connect local artists with local businesses.
His art pieces, particularly those depicting Luna Park, are certainly worth a visit to the café for a coffee and a viewing.
