ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day is day of remembrance for our soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Armed Corps who fought and died at Gallipoli 109 years ago.
College Captain Loren Watson represented the college at the ANZAC Day Service held at Waterford Valley Retirement Village.
This is an annual event where a student from the college recites the poem,
’In Flanders Field’ by Lieutenant Colonel John Mccrae – 1915
Loren Watson is pictured with Kim Wells - MP for Rowville, Sandra Daly – Manager, Waterford Valley Retirement Village, Mary Doyle MP for Aston and Susan Laukens - Knox Council, Friberg Ward.
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Sharl days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields
