Shivani Sandhu

Hello to all our wonderful school community members! My name is Mrs Shivani Sandhu and I am here to write a little bit about myself so we can all get to know each other a bit more!

Here at Scoresby Secondary College I teach VCE Psychology and Humanities.

My whole life I have been in school! From Kindergarten to Primary School to Secondary School to Uni and then back to Secondary School as a teacher- so it is safe to say that I LOVE school!

It was in Year 9 when I knew I wanted to be a school teacher. It was my English high school teacher who had inspired me to become one.

You see, English was never my strong point (I was terrible at it!) but she made the class so fun that I actually wanted to go and learnt lots in her class.  I thought it would be cool if one day I could do that for even one student and ever since then I have never looked back- shout out to Mrs Hall!

However, as much as I do love school, I don’t live in one! I do have other interests and so outside of school and they include: dancing- particularly Bhangra, playing with my dog/taking her out for walks and spending time watching Bollywood movies (despite all the endings being very predictable).

In a nutshell, teaching is my passion, I love being a teacher and am excited to be a part of our Scoresby Secondary College community.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this community and until next time, take care keep calm and stay in school!
