Work Experience 

Work Experience is fast approaching with our Year 10 students in the last stages of their preparation. 

 

With Work Experience arrangement forms starting to flow in students have been focusing now on being safe at work. Completing a General safe@work certificate followed by their industry specific safety certificate. 

 

Work experience is held in the last week of term 2, Monday 24 June to Friday 28 June. Please see Tanya in our Careers and Pathways for any questions you may have. 

 

University Visits

On Tuesday 28 May our Year 10 students will be visiting Deakin University followed by our Year 11 students visiting Monash University on the Tuesday 4 June. This is a great opportunity for students to explore the campus, see the campus resources, and be given the opportunity to speak to student ambassadors about their own pathways and extra activities the university does while at the same time taking a deeper dive into area’s of interest supporting them as they start to navigate their own future directions. 

 

 Victoria Police School Leavers Careers Expo  

 

Victoria Police will be hosting a bespoke School Leavers Careers Expo for current Year 11 and Year 12 students, where the focus will be on the recruitment process, pathways into Victoria Police, and have a range of guest speakers who will discuss their experiences in joining Victoria Police, either straight out of high school or university.

Time:

Session 1: 4:30pm - 6:00pm

Session 2: 6:45pm -8:15pm

Please note that each session will cover the same content, only one session needs to be attended.

Interested in studying Cyber Security at Swinburne?

Students are encouraged to browse Bachelor of Cyber Security and Bachelor of Computer Science (Major in Cyber Security) to find out more about how these courses lead to a qualification in Cyber Security. 

 

Swinburne also have a variety of Pathways into these courses starting with a Cert IV or Diploma of Cyber Security for those that wish to enter the work force a little quicker or chose to not sit for an ATAR or have undertaken the VCE-VM.
