Year 10 Pathways Classes
During Term 2, all Year 10 students will be guided through the process of choosing College subjects. This will be conducted in Pathways lessons to ensure that students are prepared and can confidently ask questions during the GYC course expo and the course counselling session.
Senior Secondary Courses Expo - Tuesday 4 June : 11.00am - 1.00pm
The Expo at the Glenorchy Campus is an interactive event providing students with detailed information on the range of courses and pathways available at GYC. Students will have the opportunity to speak with teachers about courses and their career pathway plans. Representatives from a range of careers and tertiary education providers will be present.
Family Information Evening - Tuesday 4 June : 5.30pm - 7.00pm
Don Bosco Theatre, Glenorchy Campus.
Presentation, information session, expo and opportunity for parents to speak with staff members and explore the wide range of subject offerings.
The Family Information Evening will provide prospective families with further details about Guilford Young College including facilities, daily timetable, cocurricular opportunities, enrolment processes, course selection and information on senior secondary education such as the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) and Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).
Student Course Counselling - Friday 21 June : 9.00am - 12.00pm
Every Year 10 student will attend GYC during College hours to assist with initial course (subject) counselling. Further details will be announced early Term 2.
St Aloysius College, Huntingfield College Information Session - Tuesday 28 May : 5.00pm - 8.00pm (please note change of date)
Year 10 students who may be considering attending College at St Aloysius can attend the Year 11-12 Course Information Evening at St Aloysius - Senior campus.
The Southern Catholic Colleges (CET) Careers Expo - Thursday 23 May - MAC02
All Year 9 and 10 students will attend this event to speak to industry experts. A large array of industries will be present.
Catholic Education Tasmania invites parents and families to join them for an enriching experience at the Southern Catholic College Careers Expo 2024. Parents and carers are encouraged to attend the Expo with their daughter and explore the vast landscape of career opportunities and discover firsthand the wealth of resources available to support her aspirations and future endeavours.
