Outside School Hours Care

Mount Carmel College April Holiday program

The April school holidays were an absolute blast!

Our students were busy engaging in a plethora of arts and crafts activities, excursions and they had a ball in the newly set-up front room relaxation zone. This cosy corner is now equipped with a stocked art trolley, plenty of reading material, and a fidget box to spark creativity and relaxation.

One of the standout events during the break was our Mad Hatter Tea Party inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland. Transforming our space, we rearranged tables, added charming tablecloths and adorned them with delightful tea sets. The atmosphere was truly magical!

At the tea party, children had the chance to sample two types of tea: "Packs a Peach" and "Strawberries and Cream." For many, it was their first experience with tea, leading to some amusing observations like, "There's leaves in my cup!" The excitement was palpable as some of our younger students indulged in a game of royal tea, with roles assigned and conversations filled with laughter and imagination. Here's a glimpse into the children's voices:

  • Ray: "Yummy! It tastes like watermelon."
  • Lucy: "Where is the sugar?"
  • Vivi: "Sugar, sugar!"
  • Betty: "I want sugar."
  • Alizay: "Me too!"
  • Grace L: "This is the best tea I've ever had!"
  • Melanie: "It's sour."
  • Olivia F: "At least it's delicious."
  • Kate: "I've tried, but I don't like it."
  • Elise: "It tastes like leaves."
  • Grace S: "This is the best tea party!"

We hope these moments brought as much joy to your children as they did to us. We'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that your input is invaluable in shaping our holiday program experiences. Your suggestions and ideas are always welcome and greatly appreciated. If you have any thoughts or would like to contribute to the planning of future holiday programs, please don't hesitate to speak with one of our dedicated educators within the space.
