Working Towards a sustainable future in PLC4

Since Term 1, students in PLC 4 have taken on board the responsibility to look after the school’s worm farm. Every week or fortnight, we have been feeding the worms using vegetable or fruit scraps provided by school staff, and making sure the worm farm is properly maintained and hydrated.

We discussed the importance of recycling and using our resources sustainably. PLC 4 was also extremely involved in the making of the Sustainable Scarecrows for the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Our class had a great time attending the show and seeing the school’s scarecrows there – Sam and Magnificent Molly.

We look forward to putting the compost from the worm farm to good use in the new outdoor space next term.
