Last week our school won a Public Education Award for our Inquiry Learning! We were recognised for our programs: Learning Centres, CTC and Grapple and for the way they support students to be curious and determined independent thinkers!
Congratulations to all of the staff for their efforts in Inquiry!
Today, our school was filled with book characters and dress-up characters! Spider man and Harry Potter, Princess Elsa and minions, dinosaurs, superheroes, pirates, storm-troopers and fairies.... so many fairies!!!
What a great celebration! The book Fair continues tomorrow morning - so go and buy a book to celebrate Reading is Magic!
Our 42 Kindy students celebrated 100 days of school last week with a focus on the number 100. There were games, treats, craft activities and physical challenges - all combined with a picnic morning tea! Congratulations to our youngest learners - who have had 100 days of school and are past the half-way mark of their first year of school!
This week we will welcome 20 visiting teachers and principals from our Instructional Rounds network. They are here to learn from our school and with our school. Our focus is: How visible is student agency at GEPS? The visitors will observe classrooms and gather data on our students' self regulation and independence. We will collaborate on developing some findings (how well we are going) and some recommendations of our next steps to continue to improve our whole school goals.
