Principal's Message

By Jenny Hassett

Active students

It has been wonderful for us teachers to be out enjoying recess and lunchtimes with our active students. Our Preps are busy playing on the playgrounds, the sandpit is a real hit with our junior levels; having toys and cubbies, and many are clocking some big distances playing chasey. Touch rugby has been popular with some of our Grade 6 students, and with concert approaching, many are out choreographing some new dances.

Athletics Day

Yesterday some of our senior students competed in the District Athletics. Well done to everyone who firstly qualified, and also who had to courage to compete and do their best against other schools. Below are some of the results that Lachie Sperling sent through last night.

Lunch Clubs

We have a range of lunch clubs available to students including nature club (bird watching), lego, dancing and chess. This gives students a chance to meet and collaborate with others to build friendships and social skills, whilst having some fun! Each day there are announcements on the schools PA system to notify students of what club is on, and where it is happening.

School Concert

We are putting our dances together in preparation for our school concert. It is great to watch the students brains ticking over to learn the dance moves and develop coordination. The big show is on Thursday 29th August.

House Point Focus - Ambition

Our house point reward system is in full swing this term, with AMBITION being the focus. We are encouraging students make to small, achievable goals and to celebrate when they are achieved. Our aim as teachers is for Rollins students to go home proud of their own personal achievements each day. Check in with your child by asking them 'what is something you did well today' or 'what is something you had success in today'. Remember to give them time to respond and think. Positive mindsets are incredibly powerful.
