All Year 12 VM students attended a mock interview with the Headstart staff members. Fantastic feedback was given. The students were able to present their resume and cover letter and experienced the interview process as if they were going for a real job. It is a busy time of the year for Year 12’s. Please remember to take breaks, eat well, sleep well and reach out if you need support.

On Wednesday the 26th of June, 26 of our year 10 to 12 students attended a Manufacturing Insight Inti Industry tour. Students went to R& I Instrument and Gear Co and EGO Pharmaceuticals, where they saw how things are manufactured. They even received a bag with freebies at the end of the day. It was a great day for all. (See photos).
On the 19th of July, 25 students attended a Career Launchpad Clean Economy excursion with Mr Kuruc, where they investigated a variety of careers and pathway options relevant to the clean economy. The students and staff thoroughly enjoyed this day.
On the 30th of July, 15 students and 1 staff member completed training and an assessment for a white card. This card is required for anyone that will be working on a construction site. This includes electricians, plumbers, and builders.
Another workshop has been organised for the 27th of August. If you are over 15 years of age and are interested, please let Nancy from the Library know.
Year 9 Morrisby Students
There was a technical glitch, which impacted Morrisby student profiles.
What is the technical issue that has impacted Morrisby student Profiles?
The assessment data transmitted from the device used to the Morrisby platform.
This resulted in some students receiving a zero for one or more of their aptitude tests that may have impacted their Morrisby profile and the careers suggested to them.
I will be sending a help sheet via email to the students impacted so that the assessment is completed again. Information will be sent only to those affected.
Friday the 2nd of August is my last day here at South Oakleigh College. I would like to wish everyone all the very best for the rest of the year. It was a pleasure working with you all.
