IN THE ART ROOM...

We celebrated a belated NAIDOC week in the artroom this week with all students creating a piece of artwork based on First Nations art techniques.

Prep - Gr 2 Coloured and added designs to Australian animal cardboard templates with Indigenous designs added with texta markers.

Gr 3 & 4 coloured an Australian animal timber template, then added Indigenous designs to their completed animals (these can be seen on display in the front office).

Grade 5 & 6 designed and coloured Indigenous artwork on timber boomerangs.  The focus was on using shades on colours, warm or cool colours or rainbow patterns.

Photos of the artwork has been placed on the School's Facebook page.

Art Club is on a Tuesday, at middle bell.  This week and next, art club will be for gr 5 & 6 .

Art extension commenced on Wednesday with specific grade 3 students participating in watercolour workshops during their lunchtime.  These workshops will continue for 4 weeks.

MUSIC NEWS TERM 3 WEEK 1

Hello everyone,

This week in Music, our Preps worked with beat, and the 1/2s explored different ways of playing instruments and drawing sounds.

The 3/4s sang different vocal parts in a song, and the 5/6s put poetry to music.

In Choir News, there will be a Choir Party on Tuesday at lunchtime for all the hard work the choir members put into preparing for the Eisteddfod last term.

MUSIC AWARDS

This week’s class Music Award goes to 5/6B for their great work in putting poetry to music.

The individual awards go to Tate Cooger in PB for playing the beat so well on instruments, and River Blacklidge in 3/4B for great participation in Music this week.

Thank you,

Mrs Megan Garland

STEM

This week in STEM, all students had a ‘Challenge Week’.

Students created paper aeroplanes and tested how far they flew. They then used paperclips on their designs to see the impact on how far their paper planes travelled.

Well done to Rosie Lewis, Nate Hilton and Prep B for receiving STEM certificates this week.

We have our annual ‘STEM Night’ coming up this term. Further information will be shared in next week’s newsletter.

If any families have any newspapers that they no longer require and wish to donate these to the STEM classroom, that would be greatly appreciated 😊
