School wide Positive Behaviour Support is being promoted and supported by everyone in the Belmore school community again this year. Classrooms have developed lessons around each of the positive behaviours and wherever  possible students are given opportunities to practice a behaviour from one of these categories.

All staff are familiar with the Practical Ideas for Teaching topics and are encouraged to demonstrate, teach and use some of these in the school environment as they are relevant to each students’ abilities and understanding. The ideas were developed in collaboration with all staff and are a way to keep activities and ideas flowing. Students have an opportunity to discuss and practise behaviours and are encouraged to recognise these behaviours in others. Positive  student behaviours are sometimes showcased in our school assemblies. Staff are always modelling our expected school behaviours and are on the lookout for students showing that they can Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Your Best and Be Respectful. It is important to recognise all students’ contributions to our positive behaviours with continuous praise and rewards.

Below is an example of our Be Your Best practical Ideas.
