Bullying No Way
Bullying No Way was a day organised to help us think about who keeps us safe and who our trusted adults are.

Book Fair
Thank you to all parents who bought books that helped raise money for us to purchase new books for the library. We are all very thankful and appreciative. A big thank you to Glenn who set up everything for the Book Fair. With the commission, we were able to purchase approximately 80 books for the library. The books ranged from picture story books to senior fiction.

Book Week Family Movie Night
Friday 23 August at 6:00pm - Paddington
Friday night (23rd August) our Family Movie night is on. We were going to watch Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day movie, but lucky for us Mrs Marziano watched the movie and it was not appropriate for young children. We will instead now watch Paddington Bear (or as Mrs Sullivan's granddaughter says “Paddlington” )
Hope to see lots of parents and children there!
Police Visit with Foundation
Last week, the Police paid a visit to the Foundation students. We asked them about the experience and here is what they said.
How was the visit?
Theo: It was very fun and good.
What was your favourite part:?
Theo: My favourite was when the siren went in the police car.
Did you like the policeman?
Heidi: Yes because he was nice and cool.
What did you do?
Micheal: We heard the siren on the police car and we also went to the back of the car where the robbers go when arrested.
Bendigo Bank
Rob and Anna from Bendigo Bank came to visit our school on Friday. The Bendigo Bank is a community bank which supports the local community by giving up to 80% of profits back to the community. They did a tour of the school and hopefully they may help us purchase some new library furniture through their sponsorship and grants funding.
See the link below to see how Bendigo Bank supports our local communities
Feast of The Assumption
On Thursday 15th August we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption with Mass in our hall. On this feast day we celebrate Mary going to heaven to be with Jesus. It was lovely to see parents and parishoners joining us to celebrate. A big thank you to Father Ignatius for leading the Mass.

MCubed Excursion
On Tuesday 20th August, four Year 5 students from St Brigid's attended the 'M Cubed' Conference at St Bede's Bentleigh East Campus. The theme was Sustainability and our students were given a challenge to 'design and prototype a solution for your local area that meets a sustainability goal'. After brainstorming, the group decided to design and create a prototype of a microbat box to provide shelter for local microbats in our area. As well as spending the day designing and creating, our students heard from a number of inspirational speakers and engineers. We were particularly proud of our students for courageously presenting their work in front of the whole conference at the end of the day!
Gemma 'I enjoyed working and seeing other people from other schools. I enjoyed making something with my friends. I enjoyed learning about sustainability'.
Ethan R 'I enjoyed making our project and making it with my friends. I also liked going and learning about sustainability.'
Christina 'I loved how we had to think and build something sustainable. It was really fun constructing our idea'.
Josh P 'I enjoyed making and planning our project for microbats. I learned a lot about microbats and loved presenting. I wish I could do this next year!
We hope you enjoyed our newsletter.
