Book Parade and Book Fair
Thank you so much to all the families who put in the effort for our Book Parade. It was wonderful to see so many students dressed up in their costumes, having fun, and running around trying to guess who their friends were dressed as. Open Day and the Book Parade are highlights in the library calendar, and the Chatswood community did not disappoint. It is so important that we continue to support our students and their love of reading, and the Book Parade is such a fantastic way to do that.
Another huge thank you goes to our parents who visited the Book Fair and purchased either donation books or books for their home libraries. Every cent helps the library. Thanks to your generosity, we sold $2,886 worth of books, with roughly 65–70% of those coming from the donation section. We were able to raise $465 in credit, which will go towards purchasing additional books from the donation section of the Book Fair.
We will work as quickly as possible to get the donated books into the system and out to the families who donated them. Remember, you will be able to borrow your donated book for a month rather than the usual two weeks.
On behalf of the library staff and volunteers, thank you so much for making our School Open Day so amazing. Your continued support means so much and helps us foster a love of reading in our school community.
Book Club
Issue 5 of Book Club is out and it is packed full of amazing books and other fun things to help enhance your child's reading. Scholastic often provides a range of books that cannot be purchased at a regular bookshop. They also create amazing bundles of book that can be great for birthday presents or simply adding some new books to your child's home library.
How to Order:
- Visit scholastic.com.au/LOOP or use the Scholastic app to place your order.
- You can also browse the catalogue online.
- Please note: Book Club orders can only be purchased via credit card. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cash payments at the school office.
- Orders close Sunday, 9 August.
Remember, 15% of any books you purchase from Book Club will go towards the school's credit which the library can then use to purchase new books free of charge. This will help us continue to expand our collection and purchase books for your children to enjoy.
