Teaching and Learning

Hello families,
What a fantastic term we are having. We have had lots of opportunities to celebrate our students' achievements and continue to watch them grow.
ICAS
We have had a number of students begging to sit their ICAS assessments. These assessments are in a range of subject areas and are for families and students to choose to participate. I want to congratulate the students who are participating on their concentration, effort and persistence when taking the assessment. These assessments will continue throughout the month and we are looking forward to seeing how well our students go.
Parent Teacher Conversations
As you know our teachers have been diligently assessing student work, class participation and learning growth in preparation for semester reports. Families had the opportunity to celebrate the growth of students at our last parent teacher conversations. There was lot to celebrate but also a great sense of what we can still be working on to achieve. We had over 500 families come and talk to their child's teacher. This was wonderful and we look forward to continuing the home school partnership so we can continue to cultivate excellence for all of our students.
National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN)
In term 1 our grade 3 and 5 students sat their NAPLAN assessments. We are incredibly proud of the way in which they focused and tried their best. Our students have achieved some amazing results this year and it is important that we celebrate this. Wimba students are constantly achieving better results than other schools in our network. This is a fantastic achievement and one that as a school we are proud of.
We need to also congratulate and acknowledge the dedicated teachers that all of our grade 3 and 5 students have had across the years that have helped them achieved these fantastic results. Our students have been able to achieve these results with their expertise and unwavering support.
We are excited about the learning and achievement that our students will achieve across the rest of the year.
Congratulations to all of our students for their fantastic achievements so far this year!!
