This week marked a significant milestone for our Year 12 students as they celebrated their final day of Secondary School. The day concluded with a whole-school assembly where the KTHS community came together to acknowledge their journey and wish them all the very best for the upcoming VCE exams, which commence next Tuesday, 28th October.

The assembly was a fitting tribute to the hard work, perseverance, and resilience shown by the Class of 2025. Interestingly of the 24 students who finished Year 12 they were one of 94 students who was in their year level at some point of the course of their schooling. Staff and students reflected on their many achievements and the challenges they’ve overcome throughout their schooling. It was a moment of pride as they officially closed the chapter on 13 (thirteen) years of education.

As they prepare to take their next big step, we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to all Year 12 students. Good luck in your exams and in all that comes next!

2026 School Captains:

The process to select our 2026 School Captains has now reached its conclusion, with students casting their votes following a series of presentations from this year’s candidates.

The selection process is a rigorous one, designed to give all candidates the opportunity to showcase their leadership qualities and commitment to our school. It involves submitting a written application, participating in an interview, delivering a speech to the student body, and finally, a student vote to determine the successful applicants.

This year, three outstanding students put themselves forward for the role. Each candidate demonstrated confidence, maturity, and a genuine passion for representing their peers and our school community. Regardless of the final result, all three should be incredibly proud of the way they have carried themselves throughout the process.

It takes courage and dedication to put your hand up for such a position, and it’s clear that any one of these students would make an excellent school captain. We commend them all for their leadership and commitment to making KTHS the best it can be.

State Athletics:

Bainli and Lyla, two talented athletes, represented Kerang Technical High School at the recent State Athletics Championships, showcasing their skill and sportsmanship on the big stage.

A special mention goes to Bainli, whose outstanding performance saw her take first place in the Discus, earning the title of State Champion — an incredible achievement that reflects her hard work and commitment to training. Bainli also delivered a strong performance in the Javelin, finishing 4th. Well done and congratulations to Lyla who finished a commendable 6th in discus among the state’s best competitors. Congratulations to Bainli and to all our athletes who competed.

On a similar note, the Intermediate Boys’ Basketball team competed at the regional Arena Stadium in Bendigo. Here they performed above expectations only going down to Bendigo and Echuca – both much bigger towns with year-round competitions and bigger talent pools to draw upon.
