Learning and Teaching

Graduate Outcome Awards
Over the last fortnight, teachers have been on the lookout for students who show the Graduate Outcome of COURAGE.
Students who graduate from St Therese’s Primary School are people of COURAGE, who are inclusive, and make responsible choices, even when it’s difficult.
Last week, we celebrated and acknowledged these students at our assembly with our awards presentation.
Our next focus will be on the Graduate Outcome of RESPECT
Christmas Carols
To celebrate the end of year, we will be holding Christmas Carols in the Altiumbra at 2pm on Friday 12th December. Each class will present a carol that connects with the story Wombat Divine, accompanied by simple movement sequences developed during Performing Arts lessons. The day will also be a Christmas Casual Clothes Day in support of the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. Families are all welcome to attend and enjoy the festivities.
Staff Training
With 2026 only a few months away, teachers have been getting prepared with some new and exciting professional development opportunities to build skills with some new Magnify programs.
In a couple of weeks, our Foundation and Grade 1 teachers will be completing some introductory training around InitialWrite, a newly developed program from MultiLit for early years writing. They will continue with some more in depth training in early 2026.
Meanwhile, our Grade 3 and 4 teachers have been training this week for their new SpellEx program, which is another MultiLit initiative and targets the embedding of key spelling skills and knowledge for middle years learners.
Swimming
Our Water Safety Sessions for Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 are going swimmingly! Our junior students still have a couple more days to look forward to this week, and our Middle and Senior students are getting prepared for their turn in a couple of weeks. Please keep an eye on your PAM accounts for permission notes and further information.
SSV State Netball Championships
The boy's netball team had a great day at the end of Term 3 competing in the SSV State Netball Championships. After four intense and very competitive games we came away 3rd in the state going down in the semifinal. We were the only ALL BOY team to compete on the day.
TOP 3 in the State out of over a thousand primary schools is an awesome effort!
Thanks to Mrs Woods for helping to organize the day and the parents that took us to states and supported the team.
