Welcome back to Term 4! It has been a smooth and positive start to the term, with students settling in quickly and easily returning to the strong routines that support great learning. Classrooms are calm, focused, and full of enthusiasm as students continue to enjoy learning.
Our Grade 5 and 6 students have already had an exciting start to the term with their excursion to the Victorian Space Science Education Centre (VSSEC). During the visit, students took part in a range of collaborative, scenario-based learning experiences that gave them a taste of life as real scientists and astronauts. Working in Mission Control and at the Mars Australian Research Station (M.A.R.S.), they monitored systems, solved problems, and carried out hands-on science experiments while communicating their findings to Mission Control. Students also had the opportunity to code and control Sphero SPRK+ robots, planning and testing a digital survey mission on Mars. The day was an incredible mix of teamwork, problem-solving, and applied science— a true adventure!
Meanwhile, our Junior students have been busy in Environmental Science, planting new crops in the school’s vegetable garden. Many of the seedlings were carefully germinated by students last term, and it was wonderful to see their excitement as they transplanted them into the garden beds. These plants will soon be harvested and used in our Kitchen Garden program—helping students see the full journey from seed to plate.
Adding to the excitement of Term 4, The Noble Park Art Show is coming up this weekend—from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th October at the Noble Park Community Centre.
Friday 17 October: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday 18 October: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday 19 October: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy the wonderful artworks created by students and artists from the local community. Be sure to check out our Springvale Rise Primary School display, showcasing amazing pieces from our talented student artists. We’re incredibly proud of their creativity and can’t wait for the community to see their work—so don’t miss it!
Finally, a friendly reminder that as the weather warms up, students are required to wear their hats when outside. This helps keep everyone safe while enjoying outdoor play and learning.
