Safety Reminders
Welcome to Term 4 – A Fresh Start in Spring
As we move out of winter and into the warmer, brighter days of Spring, we welcome everyone back for Term 4. It is a time of new energy, fresh opportunities, and for our Year 12 students, they move towards the finish line as they complete the final year of their secondary schooling. While we enjoy the change in season, it is also a great time to remind students and families about staying safe, healthy and keeping well during this busy part of the school year.
- Year 12 Exams: As VCE exams approach, stress levels can rise. We encourage students to follow healthy routines: regular sleep, balanced meals, exercise, and time away from screens.
- End-of-Year Events: As we plan for Year 12 celebrations, we remind students and families that safety, respect, and responsibility are our top priorities. Events will be monitored and supported by staff to ensure they are enjoyable and safe for all.
- Safe Driving: Year 12 students who are driving should avoid distractions (like phones), follow all road rules, and drive responsibly – especially when carrying family or friends. Remember, your safety and the safety of others depends on your choices behind the wheel.
- P-Plate Driver Passenger Restrictions: Year 12 students driving must follow the passenger rules / restrictions that exist in Victoria, particularly during the Year 12 celebration period prior to exams.
- Wellbeing Support: A reminder to students and families that the Belmont High School wellbeing team is available for support. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
- Loitering & Risky Behaviour: We encourage students to head straight home after school. Avoid hanging around shopping centres or parks in large groups, especially as daylight hours increase.
- Stranger Danger Reminder: We remind students to be aware of their surroundings and report anything suspicious.
Thank you for your continued support.
