Grade 3 News

We finished off Term 3 by watching Charlottes Web the movie.
This has allowed students to make connections, and identity contrasts between the book and the movie. Inadvertently we are also learning about pigs and spiders and the role they play in their food webs and ecosystems.
Students are hard at work creating narrative writing pieces using language features to create audience interest.
Our students are honing their skills in question writing and data collection. We have investigated what makes fair and open-ended questions along with how to create tally charts, frequency tables and pictographs. This unit explored categorical and discrete numerical data.
The first half of this term we are learning about how we can be like Jesus through reaching out and serving others, we are noticing acts of kindness in our everyday life and how smiling at someone when you greet them can help both of you have a wonderful day.

Keep up the fantastic reading and well done to all those students who have reached 200 nights of reading.
Please keep an eye out for some key dates, such as swimming, liturgies, and excursions.
