Principal's message

Dear Parents

This week our school prayer at assembly was led by Grade 4 Saxby.  They shared with us the Gospel reading from Luke, when Jesus healed ten lepers but only one returned to offer him thanks. This act of gratitude highlights the importance of recognizing and appreciating the blessings in our lives.

As we begin this new term, we come with hearts full of gratitude.

Thank You for the gift of another term at school, for life, for learning, and for the people around us.

Help us to appreciate every moment and every person we encounter each and every day.

May our gratitude shine through in our attitudes and actions.

Keep us mindful of Your blessings, both big and small.

Thank You for all that You have done and will do for us.

Amen.

We have had a wonderful start to Term 4; our students have adjusted back to their school routines after the holidays (and daylight savings) beautifully and are engaged in their learning.

It was great hearing how much our Grade 5 students enjoyed their time at Feathertop Chalet at Harrietville. Our staff who attended said they were a wonderful group; this was also affirmed by the camp and bus staff- an enormous sense of pride is felt when such comments are made about our students.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff who attended, for their enthusiasm on camp and their many hours of thoughtful and careful preparation which ensured it was such a positive experience for all. Thank you also to the staff back at school who have been flexible this past week with extra yard duties and a changed timetable to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Divisional Athletics Day

Last Friday, we had over 30 students participate in the Divisional Athletics Day at Appin Park.  They proudly represented themselves and our school.  From this day, 13 of our students have qualified for the next round which is the Regional Athletics Day in Albury this Friday. We wish them all the very best.

Thank you to Gerard Nolan, Paddy McNamara, Janelle Gambold, Michelle Evans, and Kellie Chamberlain for your preparations and supporting our students with these events.

Artwork at the Wangaratta Show

I hope you got to see our Artwork on display at the Wangaratta Show if you attended.

Thank you to our Visual Arts teacher Tania Sutherland for setting up our display for those attending the show to see.

Swimming

Our swimming programs has started this week.

This is an important part of our Physical Education Program and includes a focus on water safety as well as learning swimming skills.

The Junior children are swimming at  SwimTech Wangaratta previously known as Moore than Swimming whilst our Grades 3-6 will be swimming at the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre later this term.

I thank all the parents who have offered their assistance with the supervision of students during the program.

There is lots on this term, please check out our Important Dates page of the newsletter and also the calendar on your school PAM account which you can access via the SIMON Everywhere App.

Have a great week
