What is 'Glasses for Kids'
We provide FREE in-school vision screening, further testing, and glasses (if required) to targeted Foundation (Prep) to Year 3 students (in 2026). The Victorian State Government funds our program, which is proudly managed and delivered by State Schools’ Relief.
Is my child eligible to participate?
Any child in Foundation (Prep) to Year 3 (up to the age of 10 in a specialist school) can participate. You do not need to have a healthcare card. Students who already wear glasses are also eligible to participate.
Do I need to pay anything?
No. This is a FREE SERVICE for all participating students, provided by State Schools' Relief with support from the Victorian State Government.
Why should my child participate?
Obtaining glasses through the Glasses for Kids program can help your child see more clearly. This makes it easier for them to learn, read, and play at school. Good vision helps children do their best in class and feel more confident every day.
Can I complete a paper consent form?
Yes, if you require a paper consent form, please request one from your school.
RETURN FORMS TO THE OFFICE BY 28TH NOVEMBER, 2025
Who can provide consent?
Parents or carers may complete this form and provide consent for the initial screening and testing.
When will Glasses for Kids visit the school?
The Glasses for Kids team will be on-site for testing in Week 4 of Term 1, Wednesday 18th-Friday 20th February.

We can’t wait for another fantastic event!
Over the past two weeks, our staff have engaged in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) with a focus on ‘Opportunities to Respond’ (OTR). These sessions, led by Mr Dupuy and Mr Pain, encouraged teachers to reflect on how often students are given meaningful chances to participate actively during lessons.
This work is closely aligned with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0, which has guided much of our professional learning this year. During the most recent PLC, teachers stepped into the shoes of their students - using mini whiteboards and working with a learning partner using “Pair Share” strategies to experience highly interactive learning firsthand.

The session highlighted how targeted explicit teaching, combined with frequent opportunities to respond, can significantly boost engagement and deepen learning. To wrap up the afternoon, staff enjoyed a friendly game of 'pong', with the Year 5 team emerging victorious and earning yard duty cover from Mr Dupuy.

A big thank you to Mr Dupuy and Mr Pain for leading such a practical and engaging session.
