A Prayer for World Mission Day
Loving God,
You call each of us to share your love and bring your light to the world.
Open our hearts to the needs of others,
and help us to see your face in those we meet.
May we be generous in spirit and courageous in faith,
living each day with hearts on fire and feet on the move.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
World Mission Day – Called to Share Faith and Hope

Each year, Catholics around the world unite to celebrate World Mission Day, a special event established by Pope Pius XI in 1926 to encourage prayer and support for the Church’s missionary work. It is observed on the second last Sunday of October—this year on Sunday, 19 October 2025. On this day, the global Catholic community comes together in solidarity with missionaries who bring the love and message of Christ to people in need throughout the world.
The 2025 theme, “Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move,” reminds us that faith is a living and active force. It inspires us to go beyond comfort and convenience—to reach out, serve others, and bring hope to those who may feel forgotten.
As a Catholic community, we are called to be people of compassion, justice, and service, sharing the Good News not only through words but through everyday actions that make Jesus real in the lives of others.
To be a person of mission means recognising that God calls each of us to make a difference wherever we are. At home, we live this mission through love, respect, and forgiveness—showing patience and care to our families. At our College, we live it by being inclusive, encouraging others, and standing up for what is right. And in our wider community, we live our mission by reaching out to those in need, volunteering our time, and using our gifts to bring hope and joy to others. When we choose kindness, service, and faith-filled action, we become living witnesses of God’s love in the world. How will you be a person of Mission this week and beyond?
Planning for 2026
As we continue planning for 2026, we ask families to please advise the College if they intend to move or if their daughter will not be returning next year. In line with College policy, a minimum of ten weeks’ written notice is required for any student withdrawals. This allows us to offer places to families on our significant waitlists, as demand remains high across many year levels. We also encourage any families who are considering enrolling or would like to arrange a College tour to contact the College Office as soon as possible to secure a place and experience all that Mount Carmel has to offer.
Thank You for Your Holiday Efforts
A sincere thank you to staff and support teams for their hard work and commitment over the holiday period. The College was a hive of activity, with spaces freshly painted, learning spaces cleaned and organised, new staff welcomed, and enrolments finalised for the term ahead. Your efforts ensure that our students return to a welcoming, vibrant, and well-prepared environment. We are deeply grateful for the many unseen hours and care that go into keeping our College running so smoothly. Your dedication reflects the pride we all share in our community and the commitment to providing the very best for our students.
