SEAL and  VHAP Coordinator Update

Thursday 16 October 2025

Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

As educators, we have the privilege—and the responsibility—of guiding young minds through the exciting, often unpredictable journey of learning. For students in the Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) Program, that journey is one of both enrichment and acceleration, designed to match their curiosity, creativity, and capacity for deeper thinking with meaningful challenge and support.

During Term 4, we naturally begin to wind down for the 2025 academic year, however, recently we have been looking to the future. In Term 3, SEAL testing and interviews took place for current year 6 students. There were nerves, there was excitement and lots of dedication.  We thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many students who will take their place in our Year 7 program for 2026, and it was exciting for us to select the new SEAL class.

The SEAL Program is more than a collection of advanced classes; it is a community of learners who are encouraged to think critically, take risks, and strive for excellence. Our SEAL students have been busy throughout the year taking part in national competitions for English, Maths, Geography, History and Science. These students engage with content that moves beyond the standard curriculum, inviting them to explore complex ideas, make interdisciplinary connections, and develop the independence and resilience that will serve them well in future studies and life.

And whilst we still await for all results to come in, there have been some outstanding results on a national level, with all results being announced a little later in Term 4. But academic acceleration alone is not our goal. True learning thrives when intellect meets empathy, and when ability is paired with humility and collaboration. Through group projects, leadership opportunities, and community engagement, our SEAL students learn that success is not simply measured by grades or awards—but by the positive impact they can make on others.

To our SEAL students: keep questioning, keep exploring, and keep challenging yourselves. To our parents and school community: thank you for nurturing curiosity and valuing the pursuit of excellence. Together, we continue to create a culture where learning is not confined by limits, but inspired by possibility.
