Senior School

Welcome Back to Term 4!
Welcome back to Term 4! We hope everyone had a restful break and is ready for an exciting and busy final term of the year. Term 4 always seems to fly by, and we have plenty of engaging learning experiences planned for our Grade 5/6 students.
In Numeracy, we’ll be revising the order of operations, converting units of measurement, and exploring chance and probability by finding out the likelihood of different events occurring.
In Reading, students will dive into Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo — a wonderful novel that will inspire rich discussions, vocabulary development, and comprehension activities.
In Writing, our Grade 6 students are crafting their own autobiographies, reflecting on their primary school journeys and memorable experiences. Our Grade 5 students will be preparing their leadership speeches, developing confidence, persuasive techniques, and presentation skills as they get ready for 2026 leadership opportunities.
Our Inquiry unit this term focuses on “Our Neighbouring Countries.” Students will investigate the geography, history, and economics of various Asian nations, deepening their understanding of Australia’s place in the world and our connections with our neighbours.
It’s shaping up to be a fantastic term of learning, and we look forward to celebrating the growth and achievements of our students as the year comes to a close!
Thank You and Well Done! Embracing Change with Courage and Resilience
We want to send a heartfelt thank you to all our Grade 5/6 students and their families for the incredible courage and adaptability shown during our recent relocation to Templestowe Heights Primary School.
As part of our preemptive Bushfire Ready plan, the decision to temporarily move our classes was made to ensure the safety and continuity of learning for our students. We are immensely proud of how seamlessly our students settled into their new environment.
A Masterclass in Resilience
Watching our Grade 5/6 cohort navigate this change was a true masterclass in resilience. Without complaint, they:
- Established new routines in unfamiliar classrooms.
- Maintained their focus and commitment to their studies.
Showed exceptional leadership by treating the host school's facilities and staff with the utmost respect.
This experience wasn't just about managing a disruption; it was about demonstrating the maturity and flexibility that we hope to instill in all our senior students. They proved that learning can happen anywhere, and that a strong community spirit can overcome any challenge.
A huge thank you must also go to the generous staff and community at Templestowe Heights Primary for their warm welcome and support.
To our Grade 5/6 students: We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. You turned a challenge into an opportunity to demonstrate your remarkable character.
