Some words from the Principal

Mrs Courtney Hoffmann

Dear Karoo PS Community,

What an exciting first few weeks of Term 4 we have had!  From year 1/2 swimming, Division basketball, regional athletics, incursions, our DISCO, World Food Day, Year 3 and Year 4 Camp and celebrating our amazing teachers - it has been a joyful start!

Celebrating Our Wonderful Educators

Last week, our school community came together to celebrate the incredible educators we are so fortunate to have at Karoo Primary School each and every day.

When I reflect on my own primary and secondary school years, there are certain teachers who immediately come to mind - those who left a lasting impression by shaping my thinking, nurturing my talents, and sharing wisdom that still resonates with me today. I’m sure many of you can also recall teachers who have had a profound and lasting impact on your lives.

Last Friday, we celebrated the dedicated teaching staff we are privileged to work alongside here at Karoo. We thank them for their passion, commitment, and belief in every student’s potential, and for contributing to the positive, caring culture that makes Karoo Primary School such a special place to learn and grow.

                                                                          Teachers, we thank you!

Teacher Absence/Time in Lieu - Monday 3rd November - Reminder

At Karoo PS, we run a large range of opportunities for our students to take part in such as camps and State School Spectacular (SSS).  However, to run these events in out of school hours, we need to ensure that our teachers have 'Time in Lieu' for working outside of their standard weekly hours.  Therefore, to manage this effectively the following teachers will not be present at school on Monday 3rd Nov:

  • Miss Tiana Dias (FD)
  • Miss Karla Markovic (1M)
  • Miss Tia Beagley (3B)
  • Ms Clare McCandlish (4M)
  • Mrs Jacinta Travaglini (4BH)
  • Mrs Robyn Harris (4BH)
  • Mr Joshua Edwards (5E)
  • Miss Sarah Dobson (5D)
  • Miss Michelle Davies (6D)
  • Ms Gemma Wild (6W)
  • Mrs Alisa Hardware (6H)
  • Mrs Simone Vitas

As a result, on Monday 3rd Nov, students from the above classes attending school on this day will be engaging in an alternate learning program.  Therefore, parents can choose to send their children to school or not on this day.  This option also gives our families the opportunity to make the most of the long weekend and for our students to have a rest day in the middle of a busy term.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher, Sub School Leader or myself.

Term 4 Pupil Free Day - Reminder

Our last Pupil free day for 2025 is to be held on Friday 21st November. As per previous pupil free days, no children are required onsite. OSHC will be running a program for students who are booked in.

I look forward to seeing you around our sensational school!

Warm Regards,
