Year 3 & 4

Students have been learning about the observable features of animals. They used their knowledge to create fun “What am I?” riddles that described animals based on their observable characteristics. Students also explored animal classification by sorting plastic animals into different categories, developing their understanding of how scientists group living things.

Year 5 & 6

Students have been investigating behavioural and structural adaptations. They researched the behavioural adaptations of an animal of their choice to understand how animals survive in their environments. Students also explored camouflage as a structural adaptation and created their own camouflaged butterflies to blend into the classroom environment.
