Term 4 has begun just as Term 3 ended – full of energy, positivity, and a strong sense of community across the school.
Capital Improvements
It’s great to see our new shade sails up and already being enjoyed by students during breaks. They will make a huge difference to the comfort of our outdoor spaces during the summer months.
Embedding Our Vision – Challenge, Community, Strive, Achieve
The past few weeks have been filled with events that truly reflect our school vision in action.
We recently welcomed our 2026 Year 7 families for their information evening — a packed event with plenty of excitement from our future students and families.
Our Year 12 VCE VM Presentation Evening at the end of term 3 was another highlight. Students shared their learning journeys and future aspirations with confidence and pride, supported by their families and teachers. It is always rewarding hearing students reminisce and reflect on their time at school and speak about the knowledge and skills they will carry forward with them as they being apprenticeships and further education. Congratulations to our Year 12 VCE VM students on completing their final assessment successfully!
The Art and Design Show last week was another major success — with one of our biggest crowds yet! The quality of student work was exceptional and showcased just how creative, skilled, and hardworking our students are. The addition of live music, woodfired pizzas, and a buzzing atmosphere made it a truly memorable community event. Thank you to our talented Art and Design teams for making it happen and congratulations to students who exhibited their work and to those who won awards.
Celebrating Success
Our Sports Awards Ceremony was held 19th September, celebrating the incredible achievements of our student athletes. Year 12 Student and current Melbourne City player Mikey Ghossaini attended as our guest presenter and he spoke of where hard work and passion can lead.
At the BGKLLEN Applied Learning Awards, Parkdale was once again well represented, with many students recognised for excellence. A special congratulations to award winners, Zahara Duri and Riley Freestone, who you can read more about later in the newsletter.
We also farewelled our Year 12 students on Friday 17 October. Their final week was filled with themed dress-up days, laughter, and plenty of respectful fun. The celebration breakfast cooked by staff was delicious, and the maturity shown by our students throughout the week was something to be proud of.
It’s been a busy and rewarding start to the term, and I’m proud of how our students continue to embrace opportunities, support one another, and demonstrate what it means to be part of the Parkdale community.
