Learning in 1/2!
We reach for the stars!
One of our favourite learning experiences in 1/2 this year was creating dioramas. We love exploring our topics creatively and taking our ideas and thinking deeper to make connections and problem solve in our learning. In FBI we enjoyed learning about how to care for our environment, and we investigated different landscapes that included natural and man-made features. Our learning task involved planning, designing and creating a model of a park of our choice. We had to include natural and man-made features, and be able to explain why we had included them. We had an afternoon where grades came to visit our space, and we shared our work with them. It was so much fun!

In Writing, we wrote Information Reports about our parks. We followed our anchor chart of the structure for an Information Report to help us remember what to include. We used a title, subheadings, illustrations or labelled diagrams to support the facts that we presented.

My Water Park is the best in the world and has lots of slides and swimming pools. It has a milk bar too. It is good.
The man-made features in my Water Park are slides, pools and stairs that are really hot to walk on.
The natural features in my water park are trees, water and grass.
