Faith-Based Inquiry: Participation
This term, our Faith-Based Inquiry focus is on Participation — exploring how we can use our gifts and actions to make a difference in our world and live out our call to be people of faith and service. Across all year levels, students are deepening their understanding of how we can contribute to our communities with kindness, fairness, and compassion.
In Prep, students are exploring the question, “We are all made in God’s image, so how do we make sure there is always room for one more?” They are learning that every person is special and valued by God, and that we show love through including others and welcoming everyone.
Our Year 1/2 students are investigating, “How can we grow food in a way that cares for the Earth, helps people in need, and shows kindness to others?” Through this, they are connecting stewardship of creation with caring for others, discovering how small actions can make a big difference.
In Year 3/4, the question “How do the different groups we belong to shape who we are and help us live together in Australia and the world?” encourages students to reflect on belonging, community, and diversity. They are recognising the ways participation helps us understand ourselves and others, fostering respect and unity.
Our Year 5/6 students are exploring a global perspective through the question, “How can our participation build a fair and compassionate world?” They are considering how their choices and voices can promote justice, fairness, and care for all people, inspired by Catholic Social Teaching.
Through these rich inquiries, students are developing a sense of responsibility to participate in ways that reflect the values of Jesus — inclusion, service, and love. Together, we are learning that true participation means working for the good of all.
Have a great week!
Kind regards
