Principals Report

Ms Stephanie Scott

Welcome to our first newsletter of the year! It was wonderful to see all of our students back at school, particularly lovely to have our Yr 7's and new students join us. Congratulations to everyone for looking so fantastic in full school uniform and for a very settled and positive start to the year.

The start of the new year always means a lot of information and notes which often end up in the bottom of the bag! We really encourage families to use the parent portal to access school information. As a parent myself, this really is the most convenient way of staying on top of all the notes as well as individual details relevant to your child, such as their timetable and wellbeing entries.

One of the most important things published on the portal is our student guidelines. This is a comprehensive outline of our rules, positive reward system, consequences for inappropriate behaviour and our procedures for managing bullying and conflict. We encourage all families to be familiar with this and support you child in achieving their personal best at school. Also published is the school's behaviour management plan, something all NSW government schools must have and make it accessible to the school community.

It has been an incredibly busy start to the year! Well done to our students who represented us at the show in Agriculture or Art - we had a wonderful representation and are very proud of our students' efforts. Huge thank you to Mr Jones, Ms Parker, Mr Clay, Hughie and Mr Caisley for organising this. Photos and more details are included in this edition.

We also had a highly successful swimming carnival! Our participation was at a record high and the house and school spirit on display was inspirational! A special mention must go to the Yr 12's who took us on a trip down memory lane with 80's inspired music and costumes. A decade close to a lot of staff's hearts! Well done to our Age Champions and runner-up's and a special mention to Annie Potter who continued to break records. Thank you to Mr Cook, Mrs Jones and all the staff for their hard work and organisation.

Please enjoy this edition, as well as continue to follow us on Facebook - where we will publish more good news stories as well as information about upcoming events.
