District Swimming

The Altona District Swim Carnival was held on Friday, February 14th. The participating students gave it their all, which resulted in everyone having fun and plenty of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons. Nine students will be progressing in one or more of their events and will be competing in the Hobsons Bay Division event on March 6th at Werribee Outdoor Pool.

The nine students who qualified for the next stage of the competition are Ivy, Aoife, Erika, Charlotte, Natalie, Freya, Lucas, Immanuel, and Fabian.

Freya won the 1st place trophy in the 100m Altona District Champion Race and also qualified for multiple individual strokes, plus the freestyle relay and medley relay. Natalie, Charlotte, and Erika will join Freya in those relay races, with Erika and Charlotte also qualifying in individual strokes.

Immanuel finished runner-up in the 100m Champion Race, which was a fantastic race and effort. He won all his individual strokes and will be competing in Butterfly and Freestyle at the Division event.

Congratulations to all of our swimmers who raced with a smile on their faces and showed great sportsmanship at the pool.
