Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

PA | Ayyan | For working well with classmates when we were learning how a good collaborator asks questions and listens to their partner. You were curious about how to make a flag out of pipe cleaners and did a fantastic job talking with your partner about the best way to make it. Well done on setting a great example of what collaboration looks like at SMDP! |
PN | Olivia | For being a brave collaborative learner! Olivia has listened carefully to what it means to be collaborative and has tried her best to be a collaborative superhero by playing and working with new people, listening to them and being fair. Well done Olivia you have shown us your superhero strength. |
1C | Oliver | To Oliver for showing wonderful curiosity in his learning! Oliver is always asking thoughtful questions and showing a keen interest in classroom lessons. His enthusiasm for learning is a great role model for his classmates. We are very lucky to have you in our class Oliver, Keep being curious! |
1O | Amanuel | For your motivation to learn and ability to set a positive example for your peers in 1O. This week, you’ve shown excellent focus and responsiveness when practising attention signals, always being quick to show you’re ready to listen. Your perseverance when tackling new tasks is amazing, and you never hesitate to raise your hand and ask thoughtful questions. What a wonderful start to Grade One. Well done, Amanuel! |
2M | Louis | For being a motivated and collaborative learner. Your positivity shines in our classroom every day! You arrive with a big smile, ready to learn, and always contribute to discussions with enthusiasm. You get started straight away, showing great focus, and your cheerful attitude brings fun and energy to our room. Not only do you work hard in your own learning, but you also support others by collaborating well with classmates and showing them what to do. Your kindness and willingness to help make you a fantastic role model. Keep up the great work. |

You have been focussed at your table, sharing what you know with your class and doing your best and that little bit more! 3/4LM | Joyce | For being a reflective learner, demonstrating deep thinking. She has shown a curiosity to evaluate her work and accept feedback in all areas! Joyce has also been resilient when navigating new learning tools using technology. Well done Joyce on an incredibly successful beginning to Year 3! |
3/4K | Arianne | For being a motivated learner. You have entered the school year with a positive attitude. You demonstrate our WOWs daily and have been an excellent line leader. 5/6A | Haala | This week this person has demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm in her learning! During the BTN task, you took amazing notes highlighting key words from each news story. Your creative and thoughtful approach to learning shone through in the internet safety poster you created. You clearly demonstrated how the internet should look, feel, and sound when used safely, showing an understanding of digital responsibility. Jane (Japanese) | Alicia 5/6S | For demonstrating motivation in Japanese with a willingness to extend yourself and practice new sentences out loud to the class. Alicia I can often see your mind ticking as you retrieve the answer or try out new vocab. You have made a fantastic start in Japanese this year. |
Jan-Maree (Art) | Dut 3/4L | For listening to and following directions in Visual Arts and demonstrating great technique and creativity with his watercolour painting. |
