Sustainability

The Sustainability Team's focus this month has been on goal-setting and planning for the year ahead. We celebrated the achievement of our third ResourceSmart Schools star, we are finishing off our recycled-art mural and we are now setting our sights on completing our next ResourceSmart Schools module: Energy. In completing our Energy module, we hope to reduce our school’s energy use and save on energy bills. We are looking forward to completing some projects on energy conservation, energy efficiency, reducing  greenhouse gases and improving air quality at the school.

We are therefore very excited to announce that to fundraise for our Energy module campaign, Lilydale Heights College is now set up as a registered partner to receive Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) refunds as donations! Not only will this initiative benefit our sustainability goals, but will make a difference to our school and local environment.

How does this work?

Step 1: Collect eligible bottles and cans.

Step 2: Go to a drop-off point OR bring them to school and place them in the marked blue wheelie bins. Find your local drop-off point here, or by downloading the app below.

Step 3:  Choose to DONATE your refund to Lilydale Heights College instead of receiving cash or vouchers. Our refund code and barcode is:
