Peer Support

Year 10 Peer Support students have had a positive start to the year! Peer Support have been successfully running sessions with Year 7 students, helping to support their transition into high school by fostering a sense of belonging and connection within our learning community. They recently attended Year 7 Camp to run activities and create positive and meaningful connections with Year 7 students.

On Tuesday  11th February, the Year 10 Peer Support classes took a bus down to the Year 7 Camp at Phillip Island. When we arrived, we went off and greeted the Year 7's and participated and assisted with the camp activities such as flying fox, archery, giant swing etc. Once that activity session was finished and the Year 7's were having lunch at camp, the Year 10's took a drive to the nearby park and beach and had lunch. When we returned to the camp, the Peer Support leaders ran some fun activities with the Year 7's that we had planned and organised during class the week before. Activities included things like tug-of-war, rob the nest, dodgeball and capture the flag.

It was a little challenging to keep the Year 7's enthusiastic as it was really hot and they were struggling a bit. However, we loved the experience and it allowed us to get to know a broader range of students outside of our regular groups.
