Year 7

A Fantastic Start for our Year 7's!

What an incredible start to the year it has been for our Year 7 students as they begin their high school journey. The transition from primary to secondary school is a big step and we are so proud of how well our newest students have embraced the change with enthusiasm, resilience and a willingness to learn.

Our transition program has been an important part of helping students settle in. From the moment they arrived, they were busy getting to know their teachers, classmates and new surroundings. They received their lockers and combination locks—a task that was much easier for some than others. Through a range of activities designed to build connections, they quickly began forming friendships and feeling part of the school community.  Students have also been connecting to our systems, learning how to navigate Compass and use their devices to support their learning journey. It has been fantastic to see them developing independence and confidence as they adjust to the expectations of high school.

A major highlight of the term so far has been the Year 7 Camp to Phillip Island. This action-packed experience gave students the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, build friendships and take part in a range of exciting activities, including bike riding, mini golf, archery, swimming and the giant swing. In the evenings, they enjoyed a beach walk with running races on the sand, followed by a hotly contested trivia competition. It was wonderful to see the teamwork, resilience and support shown by our Year 7's throughout the camp.

Our Year 7 Camp to Phillip Island was an incredible experience, filled with adventure, teamwork and new friendships! We started our journey with a lunch stop at San Remo, enjoying the fresh sea air before heading to The Nobbies Reserve, where we took in the breathtaking clifftop views.

Once at camp, students jumped into a variety of exciting activities, including bike riding, mini golf, archery, swimming and the giant swing. In the evenings, we enjoyed a beach walk with running races on the sand, followed by our hotly contested trivia competition, where students put their knowledge to the test in a fun and competitive atmosphere!

More than just activities, camp was about stepping outside comfort zones, supporting each other, and forging new friendships that will last well beyond the trip. We were blown away by the enthusiasm, resilience, and camaraderie of our Year 7's and we are incredibly proud of the way they embraced the experience.

We can’t wait to see them continue to grow, connect, and thrive throughout the year! 👏
