Year 11
Brigitte Ferguson
The start of Senior School got off to a roaring start as all Year 11 students welcomed in the new year with a whole cohort assembly. Students gathered their diaries and walked into their first class with a positive and reflective outlook thanks to their Student Liaison Ms Brigitte Ferguson.
Starting Senior School has been both rewarding and challenging. Those choosing to tackle a VET subject have been off campus on Wednesdays venturing to various locations and partaking in numerous different hands on activities. Students have also enjoyed the hands on and practical elements of subjects, such as yoga in PE. In the classroom, students have completed their Ready to Learn Plans in SELF, brainstormed ways in which we can continue to contribute to a positive school culture and have started to practice revision strategies in study periods.
With the first SACs already underway in some subjects and more to come very soon, it is important to ensure that all students are making effective use of study times at school and have effective study habits at home.
Looking ahead: we are the process of putting together a planning committee/group of class captains who will be using their ideas and voice to plan events such as the Year 11 Gala. Those interested should see Ms Ferguson.
As always, please reach out to the Senior Team or your child's classroom teacher. We welcome and value your input.
