Monash Heights District Swimming

On Thursday the 13th of February some of the selected year 4-6 swimmers went to Monash Heights District Swimming competition to swim and compete against other schools including Wheelers Hill, Essex Heights, Mount Waverley, Mount Scopus and way more.

We all travelled on a bus and it only took a few minutes to get there. Everyone was really excited and some were nervous.

The Competition was held in an outdoor 50m pool and lots of family and friends were cheering on all the competitors. Luckily the weather was kind to us and it did not rain.

We started with the boys and girls medley then freestyle, Breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and finally, the freestyle relay. Jells Park took 2nd place overall just missing out on 1st place (Wheelers Hill PS) by only 2 points!

Our Medley teams, both girls and boys smashed it with girls taking 1st place and boys 3rd. The individual swimmers also did awesome and lots of people were getting ribbons.

We also had a relay team for boys and girls in each year level. 2 out of the 6 teams were mixed relays with boys and girls in the same team. Overall it was a challenging competition for all but we are so happy to announce that so many Jells Park students are going to division at Boroondara sports complex on Wednesday the 5th of March.
