R.E. NEWS

Year 3 Retreat Day

On Tuesday, 16th June, our Year 3 students will participate in a Retreat Day centred around their unit of work on the Eucharist in Religious Education. This day will be held in the Parish Hall (students come to school as normal) and is facilitated by the Year 3 teachers, Mrs Clarke & Mrs Gippel.

St Carlo Acutis Relic

We are pleased to advise that a Major Relic of St Carlo Acutis will be visiting our Parish on Wednesday, 1st July, as part of a national tour of Australia. This visit has been made possible through an initiative of Bishop Peter Murphy to bring this significant opportunity for prayer and reflection to the Diocese of Armidale. Relics have long held an important place in the Catholic tradition as tangible reminders of the lives and witness of the saints. They invite us to deepen our faith and inspire us to follow Christ more closely through the example of those who have gone before us. Our Year 6 students will visit the church on Wednesday, 1st July with Mrs Clarke and the Year 6 teachers, to view the relic. More information about the relic will be posted on Compass.

We are very excited to give the students at St Edward’s Primary School the opportunity to participate in the 2026 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge.

Every student at the Infants Campus will automatically be signed up for the challenge and read books from the challenge as part of their class and library sessions.

Primary students wanting to participate in this year's challenge will need to see Mrs Michell in the library to sign up.

Students are encouraged to log onto the PRC website from home to log their books, or Mrs Michell can log them in the library. Students should now start to log the books they have read. Students can also discover books that are part of the PRC using the link above. If you have any problems with logging books or accessing, please reach out.

If you have any questions, please reach out.
