Serving with Purpose
Bible Passage: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
As a school community, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers, especially during National Volunteers Week. We are so grateful for the time, care and energy you give so generously.
While we look forward to celebrating our St Paul Lutheran volunteers more formally later in the year, we didn’t want to miss this opportunity to recognise and acknowledge the important role you play in our school.
Your role may sometimes feel quiet—helping in classrooms, listening to children read, supporting excursions, or simply being a friendly, caring presence—please know your contribution is incredibly important to us.
Every kind word, every patient moment and every bit of encouragement you offer makes a real difference. You help create a space where children feel supported, valued and confident to learn and grow.
Our school is not just a place of learning—it’s a community where children are shaped in so many ways. We see the impact you have. Children remember the adult who sat beside them and listened as they worked through a tricky book. They remember the support of parents and caregivers on excursions. They remember the smile that made them feel seen and the encouragement that helped them keep going. These small moments often grow into confidence, resilience and a stronger sense of self.
You are also a big part of what makes our school community so strong. By giving your time, you support our teachers, build meaningful connections and help create an environment where children can truly flourish.
We know there are days when volunteering can feel tiring or even unnoticed, but please be assured—your efforts are deeply appreciated. More importantly, nothing given in love is ever wasted. Through your care and service, you are making a lasting difference in the lives of the children in our school.
Thank you for everything you do. You are helping to shape not only learners, but lives—and we are truly grateful.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the volunteers who bless our school community. Thank You for their generosity, kindness and willingness to serve. Please encourage and strengthen them each day. Help them to know how valued they are and how much their presence means to the children and families in our care. Amen.
